Rollins College Works to Cut Carbon Footprint

Starting this week, Rollins College will be conducting a campus-wide “No Impact Experiment” in which students can participate in a variety of activities to raise awareness of consumption and work to reduce their carbon footprints. The experiment is in conjunction with the annual “Be a Part from the Start” campus collaboration, in which Rollins students from several organizations will be conducting community service projects throughout Central Florida.

Below are are some of the activities to be undertaken as part of Rollins College “No Impact Experiment”.

9/3        Energy Day:  Turn It Off!

7:30 p.m.
Meet in the Galloway Room for a discussion about energy with Assistant Professor of Biology Katie Sutherland and an introduction to the Turn It Off Experiment.  After the discussion, come outside on Mills Lawn and experience Rollins with the lights turned off.

Lights turned off and drum circle

9/4        Water Day:  Beach Clean Up

Meet at Alfond Sports Center at 7 a.m.
