A helicopter made an emergency landing on State Road 520-Beachline on Wednesday around 11:00 am, after a warning light was activated during flight.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office patrol units responded to the scene of the emergency landing, as a precautionary measure to provide additional safety, deputies said.
The helicopter remained in the median until a mechanic arrived to check the instrumentation and give the all clear to take off. There are new reports that the helicopter had run out of fuel.
The aircraft is a Schweizer 300 CBi helicopter, considered very stable and easy to fly.
The roadway was closed to vehicular traffic for a couple of hours, but has since been re-opened.
Deputies said that there were no injuries or damage sustained to the helicopter or roadway.
