A man who got into a domestic dispute with his wife and who eventually ended up shooting her in the hand, after firing several warning shots, was arrested on Sunday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said. Lawrence Smith, 32 years, was arrested and charged with domestic violence and shooting.
According to OCSO:
On July 18, 2010, at approximately 2:30 pm, Orange County deputies responded to 922 Inchon Court in the Pine Hills area, in reference to a domestic dispute. The victim told deputies she and her husband, Lawrence Smith had an argument during which he retrieved a firearm, pointed it in her direction and after firing several “warning” shots, fired a round which struck the victim in the left hand.
Lawrence Smith, 32 years, initially fled the scene, but was later apprehended, interviewed and subsequently arrested.
Mrs. Smith was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for assessment and treatment.
Smith was charged with several counts: aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; tampering with a witness to hinder communication with a Law Enforcement Officer and false imprisonment.
He was booked in the Orange County Jail where he remains.
