Orlando Magic’s Lucas Boyce Named to ‘40 Under 40’ List

Orlando Magic Director of Multicultural Insights and Cause Marketing Lucas Boyce was named to the Orlando Business Journal’s ‘40 Under 40’ list, a recognition that spotlights the region’s top young business and civic leaders under the age of 40. Those selected were classified as well-rounded individuals with a positive attitude who showed consistent, outstanding professional achievement and a commitment to community service.

“It is an incredible honor to be named with so many impressive individuals who are trying to impact the Central Florida Community,” Boyce said. “I’m thankful once again for God’s grace and humbled by the acknowledgment.”

In his role with the Magic, Boyce is responsible for the strategic business planning and direction of the organization’s multicultural initiatives, diverse outreach and government affairs. Additionally, Boyce helps oversee the Magic’s community relations department and is responsible for directing many of the Magic’s community outreach programs.

The Orlando Business Journal’s announcement coincides with the launch of Boyce’s Web site, lucasdanielboyce.com, a digital media hub that highlights his improbable journey. His first book, “Living Proof: From Foster Care to the White House and the NBA” is expected to be published by December 2010.

Boyce joined the Magic in July 2008 after previously serving in multiple capacities in the White House during the George W. Bush administration. During his tenure at the White House, Boyce served in the office of political affairs, where he monitored political activity and tracked key races across the Plain-Southwest region of the United States. Boyce also served in the White House’s office of public liaison, where he directed African-American and professional sports outreach in addition to event-related work in the fields of healthcare and economic policy.

A graduate of the University of Central Missouri, Boyce received his bachelor’s degree in political science and speech communications.
