Orlando Police Searching for Downtown Rape Suspect

Orlando Police Department (OPD) detectives are looking for a white man who raped a woman early on Friday morning near Lake Eola Park Downtown Orlando.

According to OPD:

On May 14, between 2:00 – 3:00 am, the victim was sitting on a bench on Central Boulevard, near the small bird fountain in Lake Eola Park, when an unknown white male passed her and spoke to her.  She stated once he walked several yards from her East, she got up to leave the area.  She stated the suspect grabbed her from behind, pulling her hair and placing his hand over her mouth.  She stated he then took her onto the grassy area near the bench where he sexually battered the victim.

The man then fled east on Central Boulevard.

The victim got up and walked west to the Bus terminal where she called a crisis help line, which referred her to OPD. She did not sustain any injuries that required her to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The victim stated the man appeared to be in his 50’s wearing dirty dark pants and no shirt. He is believed to be about 5′ 8″ tall, about 160 pounds with grey hair.
