An arrest was recently made in a Central Florida road rage shooting that killed a man.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kentavious Gholston in the road rage incident that resulted in a man’s death in Riverview near Tampa on October 27th.
Through investigative means, detectives identified 26-year-old Kentavious Gholston as the shooter and determined he tampered with physical evidence related to the case.
On October 27th at 2:15pm, HCSO’s 911 center received a call that a man had been shot on U.S. Highway 301 and Bloomingdale Avenue. Upon deputies arrival, they located a man with upper body trauma. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to local law enforcement, Gholston was arrested and charged with:
- 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm
- Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- VOP – Domestic Violence Battery by Strangulation
“A Sunday afternoon turned into a nightmare that cost a life, leaving a family shattered by this senseless violence,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This reckless act shows a complete disregard for human life. Violence is never the answer, and this tragedy could have been entirely avoided.”
