Four Jamaicans Perish In Airline Crash

As  Continental Airlines expressed its profound sadness over the deadly crash of flight 3407, Jamaica media reports claim four of those killed Thursday night were Jamaicans.

Radio Jamaica reports claim that Danny Massop, 42, and his wife, Dawn, 43, as well as their son 13-year old Shaun and Mrs. Massop’s sister, Ferrice Reid died in the Buffalo, NY crash. The flight was operated by Colgan Air and was five minutes from Buffalo airport when it went down Thursday night in a home in Clarence Center about 10:20 p.m.

Everyone on board the flight and a man inside the home were killed bringing the death toll to 49. `Continental extends its deepest sympathy to the family members and loved ones of those involved in this accident,` said Larry Kellner, chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines. `We are providing our full assistance to Colgan Air so that together we can provide as much support as possible for all concerned.`

President Obama expressed sadness adding, `We pray for all those who have been touched by this terrible tragedy to find peace and comfort in the hard days ahead.`
