A 26-year-old suspect was arrested following a fatal incident at a local Central Florida bar and grille.
On July 2nd, at approximately 1:29am, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance at the Tally Ho Bar, Lounge & Grille, located at 7402 N. 56th St. in Tampa.
Upon arrival, deputies learned there was a physical altercation between patrons and security at the bar. Another security guard intervened but was subsequently struck in the head by one of the patrons involved.
As a result, the victim, 50-year-old Kenneth Washington, a member of security, suffered a medical emergency caused by the patron striking him in the head and collapsed.
When deputies arrived, they immediately initiated medical treatment until Hillsborough County Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
At the scene, deputies arrested 26-year-old Joshua Valdibieso for battery as an autopsy had not yet occurred.
Homicide detectives continued the investigation, and on July 12th, an arrest warrant was issued for Valdibieso for Manslaughter.
On July 14th, HCSO, with assistance from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, located Valdibieso in Pasco County and took him into custody without incident.
“It’s tragic that a man lost his life due to senseless violence while simply doing his job,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I commend our deputies for their dedication to justice. Their meticulous work with this case has led to the successful arrest of this violent man, who will now be held accountable for his actions.”
This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
