Former White House physician and current Congressman Ronny Jackson released a memo providing an update on Donald Trump’s gunshot wound and the health of the former President after the assassination attempt.
The doctor described the wound caused by a bullet on the Republican presidential candidate, including that there was initially significant bleeding and swelling of Trump’s entire upper ear. According to Rep. Jackson, there is still intermittent bleeding which requires a dressing to be in place, but no sutures were required.
The bullet came less than a quarter of an inch from entering Trump’s head.
Representative Ronny Jackson’s memo, released by the Trump-Vance campaign, said former President Trump is “doing well,” and “recovering as expected from the gunshot wound sustained.”
He added it was “an absolute miracle he wasn’t killed.”
Trump was initially treated by the medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania and was evaluated for additional injuries that included a CT scan of his head.
