Local firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at an Orlando apartment unit that spread, causing damage to multiple units and displacing residents.
On Friday, July 19th, Orlando Firefighters responded to a reported kitchen fire at an apartment unit on the 1800 block of South Semoran Blvd.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire, which extended to the second floor and attic. According to officials, crews quickly worked together to get water on the fire to achieve fire knockdown, and then fully extinguish the fire.
Three patients were assisted at the scene by EMS personnel. Two dogs were rescued, but tragically one was found deceased, and two pet birds rescued, according to Orlando firefighters.
Eight units total were impacted by the fire and 13 people were displaced.
