Deputies have found 3-year-old Rakim Akbari deceased in a body of water at the Orlando resort near Disney where he was reported missing.
Orange County Sheriff’s detectives are still looking into how this tragedy occurred.
3-year-old Rakim Akbari wandered away from a Central Florida resort this morning in the 8800 block of Palm Village Circle, near State Road 535 and World Center Drive, according to local law enforcement.
Rakim, who also goes by “Tuda,” had autism. There was extreme concern for his well-being when he was missing. He was wearing white pajama pants and a maroon shirt when he was last seen.
Law enforcement was checking water and waterways during the search.
“We are grieving his loss, and our prayers are with his family,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office posted with the sad news about the child’s death.
