Body Found in Advanced Stage of Decomposition in Central Florida

After a body was found in an advanced stage of decomposition in Central Florida, a 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 35-year-old man.

Last week, Tampa Police officers responded to the 17000 block of Dona Michelle Drive, following a report of a deceased individual.

Upon their arrival, officers located a body found in an advanced stage of decomposition. On scene, officers located a Florida Driver’s License which was used to positively identify the adult male victim.

During their investigation, detectives were able to determine that before the incident, the victim was living in his car, which was identified as a red 2006 Dodge Charger. Detectives found that the vehicle was being driven by someone other than the decedent.

Through investigative means, officers located the victim’s vehicle parked at a residence located in the 17000 block of Madison Creek Drive and took the suspect, Andre Aris, into custody.

Leading up to the incident, Aris confirmed to detectives that he had met the victim one month prior, and claimed that a week ago, the victim gave him the Dodge Charger to sell. In a later interview, Aris claimed to detectives that the person he received the vehicle from did not look like the victim, although based on evidence collected, Aris was in possession of several of the victim’s photo ID cards.

Near the location where the victim was found, detectives executed a search warrant at a storage facility and nearby hotel. In both locations evidence was collected that ultimately connected Aris to the murder of the victim, according to law enforcement.

As a result, Aris was charged with One Felony Count of Murder in the First Degree and One Felony Count of Grand Theft Motor Vehicle. He was taken to Orient Road Jail.
