A 33-year-old Orange County man was charged with firearm and drug offenses.
United States Attorney Roger Handberg announced the return of an indictment charging Joshua Grant Cobb, of Orlando, with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The indictment also notifies Cobb that the United States intends to forfeit the firearms and ammunition which are alleged to have facilitated the offenses.
According to the indictment, on April 30, 2024, Cobb possessed with the intent to distribute 40 grams or more of a fentanyl mixture and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in Central Florida. Cobb is also charged with possessing a firearm in furtherance of that drug offense.
If convicted on both counts, Cobb faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 15 years, up to life, in federal prison.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman.
