NFL Player Arrested in Central Florida after Turning Himself In

After weeks of evading law enforcement, an NFL player has been arrested in Central Florida after turning himself in.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office took 29-year-old Cameron Sutton into custody after he was wanted for Domestic Battery by Strangulation.

On Monday, March 25th, Sutton’s attorney contacted HCSO’s warrant section to inform them that he was going to Tampa to turn himself in to authorities.

It wasn’t until March 31st, at 8:24pm that Sutton arrived to the Orient Road Jail to turn himself in, according to local law enforcement.

“After weeks of evading law enforcement, this man has finally made the right choice to turn himself in,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Domestic violence has no place in our community, and no one is above the law here in Hillsborough County. My thoughts are with this woman as she continues to heal from this man’s gruesome actions.”

You can view the booking video on YouTube here.

Sutton played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions.
