A Central Florida man has arrested a man on charges of possession of child and animal pornography.
Back on December 27th, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives with the Internet Predator Unit received information that led them to a residence in Brandon, near Tampa, where they made contact with 26-year-old Filmon Hailu.
Throughout their investigation, detectives found numerous images of child sexual abuse material on the suspect’s phone. An arrest warrant was issued on January 23, 2024.
Hailu was arrested on January 24, 2024, and charged with the following:
- Possession of Child Pornography 10 or more Images and Content of Images x 100
- Film, Distribute, or Possess Image or Video of Sexual Activity with an Animal x 7
- Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
“I am appalled and disgusted by this individual’s despicable actions,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “It’s so disheartening that our Internet Predator Unit has to dedicate their time day after day to investigating horrific crimes like these, but I am so proud of the work they do to keep our community safe from criminals that exploit children.”
