The Orlando Police Department announced the homicide arrest of a 17-year-old charged with the murder of a 16-year-old.
According to OPD, on November 18, 2023, at approximately 5:25pm, local police received calls regarding gunshots and seeing a white SUV stuck on a parking block. Responding officers located the victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
The homicide happened at the Metro Place Apartments located at 1849 South Kirkman Road in Orlando.
The victim was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Randy Smith.
Last week, 17-year-old Trayvon Randell Jackson was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Principal in First Degree – Armed Robbery with a Firearm, according to law enforcement.
UPDATE: A second arrest has been made for the murder of a 16-year-old at apartments in Orlando.
