Over the weekend, Tampa Police officers responded to the scene of a vehicle crash at the 5100 block of W. Gandy Boulevard involving a black 2009 Honda Civic and an adult pedestrian.
An adult male exited his vehicle on the busy roadway and attempted to cross the highway when he was struck by a passing vehicle traveling westbound.
Tampa officers arrived on scene and located the victim in the roadway, unresponsive. Lifesaving measures were performed, but the victim succumbed to injuries at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The driver of the 2009 Honda civic was not impaired.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to local law enforcement.
