Fatal Shooting of 3-Year-Old Girl in South Florida

Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a recent shooting in Tamarac that left a 3-year-old child dead in South Florida.




Over the weekend, Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a shooting near the 3000 block of West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac in South Florida. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded.

On scene, deputies located a child suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was accompanied by an adult female. Deputies quickly established a perimeter to investigate. Paramedics pronounced the child deceased on scene. BSO’s Homicide Unit detectives were notified and responded to the scene.

BSO investigators with the assistance of Lauderhill Police Department detained two occupants of a U-haul truck located in Lauderhill in connection with the shooting. The individuals were subsequently released.

BSO Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to this fatal shooting.
