The Florida Lottery recently announced that Jordan Kowalak, of Palm Bay, claimed a $1 million top prize from the $5,000,000 CASHWORD scratch-off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Brevard County woman chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $780,000.00.
Kowalak purchased her winning ticket from Race Trac, located at 8630 South US Highway 1, in Port St. Lucie. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
The $20 scratch-off game, $5,000,000 CASHWORD, launched in May 2020 and features eight top prizes of $5 million and 24 second-tier prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.91.
Recently, there have been a few new millionaires thanks to the Florida Lottery. A Tampa woman, a Jacksonville man, a Dunnellon man, and a Winter Park woman also won $1 million from scratch-off games.
