The campaign of Senator Annette Taddeo, the Democratic nominee for Florida’s 27th Congressional District, is spreading massive news showing momentum. The Economist has officially rated her race against incumbent Rep. María Elvira Salazar as “Uncertain,” meaning this is the only toss-up seat in Florida and one of only 21 in the entire country.
“The Economist confirms what we are feeling on the ground all throughout Florida’s 27th Congressional District. We are in a toss-up race, and we are in a strong position to beat Maria Elvira this November,” said Nick Merlino, Taddeo campaign manager. “As voters continue to hear our campaign’s message and learn more about the myriad ways the incumbent is failing them, we are confident our momentum will continue to grow, and we will deliver real leadership for the people of Miami in our district.”
The Economist’s new designation for this race comes on top of Senator Taddeo’s decisive 42-point win in the recent primary election and two separate general election polls that show Senator Taddeo and María Elvira Salazar in a statistical tie. She could become a bright spot for Democrats in Congress.
Senator Taddeo’s campaign has also been racking up endorsements from numerous congressional leaders, major unions, and national and local organizations, and her race has been added to the selective DCCC Red to Blue List.
