A 20-year-old man is believed to be paralyzed, after attempting to jump from a balcony to a palm tree and missed.
Orange County deputies found Christopher Bastien, 20, lying in the shrubs at The Edge apartments on Jefferson Commons Circle, early on Sunday morning.
Bastien told investigators that he could not remember what happened. But deputies say, Bastien, who was attending a party, was intoxicated when he attempted to jump from a third floor balcony to a palm tree about 10-12 feet away.
Deputies do not believe that Bastien’s jump was an attempted suicide.
Bastien, who was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, is reportedly paralyzed from his waist down.
