William Davis 111, was arrested on October 29th, for the kidnapping and murder of Fabiana Malave, but local law enforcement agencies who participated with Florida Department of Corrections in a probation sweep, one week before, may have missed an opportunity to arrest this man.
During a probation sweep detail for violators conducted on October 22nd, Florida Department of Corrections Probation Officer Erika Callier, OCSO Deputy Kevin Lynch, OPD Officer Mongelluzzo, OPD Rosa and OPD Officer R. Gregg encountered Davis while conducting a violation of probation search for another man, Craig R. Comstock.
A consensual contact was conducted on Davis and he was confronted regarding his truthfulness regarding his name and date of birth. The team did not find nor was there (known) probable cause for his arrest. The team exhausted several avenues and attempts to identify Davis to their satisfaction, but at the time they could not find any information which would have led to any further action.
One week later on October 29, Davis was arrested for the homicide of Malave on the same day.
Malave was kidnapped from a Longwood-area auto dealership at knife point, where she worked and is believed to have been raped before she was murdered at Davis’ home in the the Pine Hills area.
Davis, 31, is being held without bail in the Seminole County Jail, where he also faces a kidnapping charge.
