Five people were seriously hurt Thursday night when an SUV slammed into an auto shop in Orlando, after crashing into a van, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened near Edgewater Drive and Edgewater Shores just after 10:00 p.m.
Investigators say, Joseph Salustro, 23, of Orlando, lost control of the SUV, went across a set of railroad tracks and hit a van at a stop sign, before crashing into Scott’s Automotive located at 7115 Edgewater Drive.
Salustro was seriously injured along with the van’s driver, Christopher Greaney, 23, of Orlando. Three passengers in the van were also seriously injured. They are: Michael Alexander, 55, Madeline McGarry, 21, and Charles Rentz, 28, all of Orlando.
Troopers are still trying to determine whether alcohol played a role in the crash. Blood was drawn from Salustro.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers also say.
