A Kissimmee man who pled guilty to killing a 2-year-old child just over five years ago, has been sentenced to 30 years behind bars.
On Monday, Jonathan Alicea, now 24, pled guilty to second degree murder in the death of Jariel Alexander, 2, in October 2009.
Alicea murdered little Jariel, his girlfriend’s son, when he became angry after the kid would not eat and soiled his pants. He pushed the child’s head causing the boy to lose consciousness immediately. According to police, Alicea boiled a pot of water and then poured it on the kid believing it would revive him.
On October 13, 2009, Jariel was declared dead at Arnold Palmer Hospital.
Alicea was sentenced to three decades in prison.
