A man wanted for questioning in the death of a baby boy who he was babysitting, was arrested in California Friday.
Joseph Lamay, 24, was looking after 4-month-old Lorenzo Hernandez, his girlfriend Chastity Cintron’s son when, early on the morning of September 26, police and paramedics were called to the Palm Bay apartment. The baby was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
According to reports, Lamay was the only person in contact with Lorenzo after the baby’s biological father had put him to sleep around 10:30 p.m., on September 25.
Lamay, who initially cooperated with police, was found in California, eight days after the baby in his care, died.
According to reports, Lamay had been previously arrested and convicted for heroin possession and domestic violence.
