STAR 94.5 Orlando’s Only R&B is hosting Tom Joyner’s 13th Annual Take a Loved One (TALO) to the Doctor Day on Saturday, October 4th at Barnett Park from 10am-2pm.
This one-day health & wellness fair offers FREE screenings including: blood pressure, glucose, BMI’s, STD & HIV testing, hearing, mammograms, prostate, dental and vision exams. The event is a partnership with Orange County Commissioner Tiffany Moore-Russell and the Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange). It is sponsored by Lincoln Technical Institute and Florida Department of Agriculture. TALO will have a variety of fun activities for the entire family. Besides the “health village” and KIDZ Zone, One Blood will be on site to take donations.
“African Americans are under-represented when it comes to making blood donations. This is a good way to dispel myths about the safety of donating” says Community Affairs Director for STAR 94.5/STAR Cares Monica May.
