Eight men have been arrested in an undercover prostitution sting, Sanford police announced Friday.
Female undercover police officers posed as prostitutes and once the suspects offered to trade money for sex they were arrested. In one case, one of the offers was two cigarettes for a sexual act.
The arrestees are: Ernesto Hernandez, Danilo Kuljanin, Gary Krbec, Obediah Lewis II, Jean Berdis, Glenn Dunn and Douglas Zagorski. One of the men arrested refused to identify himself. He is being held as John Doe until he can be positively identified, police said.
“This sting is part of the Sanford Police Department’s ongoing commitment improve the quality of life for Sanford residents by going after not only those who sell sex but those who solicit sex as well,” said Chief Cecil Smith.
