Marion County Sheriff’s Office will place 100 crime prevention kiosks around the county in local business and government offices.
Sheriff Chris Blair, who conceived the idea of the electronic kiosks, made the announcement Wednesday, before a room-full of attendees.
The hi-tech crime fighting tool is intended to provide information to the community quickly, issuing alerts, public service announcements and breaking news simultaneously, on three screens.
Over the next few months, the electronic kiosks are expected to be visible in businesses like Family Dollar and Wal-Mart as well as, office buildings.
