A man was stabbed to death after a fight broke out early this morning at a night club downtown Orlando, police said.
Orlando police said, Jerry P. Smith, Jr., died outside the Club Tier nightclub located at 20 E. Central Boulevard, early on Monday morning.
Witnesses told investigators that Smith and suspect, Gavin Brown, 35, were in a fight inside the club just after mid-night.
Investigators arrived to see Smith lying in the roadway in front of the club, going in and out of consciousness.
According to the arrest report, Smith was able to identify Brown as his killer.
Brown was taken into custody and initially charged with aggravated battery with a weapon. Those charges are expected to be upgraded to homicide. He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
