June 19, 2014 From 9am –11am

Wells’Built Museum of African American History and Culture

511 W. South Street Orlando, Florida 32805

Juneteenth 2014 will take you back through time where you will learn of individuals who helped to usher in civil rights victories in Central Florida in the late 1940s and 1950s.  During the Juneteenth recognition breakfast, you will witness first-person portrayals of Thurgood Marshall, Paul Perkins, Harry T. Moore, Jackie Perkins, Harriette S. Moore, Walter Irving, Dr. William Monroe Wells and Clifford Irene Wells.

You will be entranced by the music of the movement that was the underpinning of the civil rights struggle and connect with Civil Rights Forerunners who worked locally to support Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other advocates whose work culminated in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
