Orlando motorcyclist killed on State Road 50

507866ea55dab.preview-300An Orlando motorcyclist was killed early on Sunday morning, after he crashed into another vehicle on State Road 50.

The crash happened around 3:00 a.m., on State Road 50 near the intersection of Forsythe Road.

Troopers say, a Chevy van was heading eastbound on Colonial Drive in the left turn lane and was attempting to turn left to travel north onto Forsythe Road. That’s when Robert Carr, 25, traveling westbound on Colonial Drive on a 2007 Honda Mitsubishi, crashed into the ride side of the Chevy van.

Carr was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash, troopers said.

Harold Hovella, 26, of Orlando the driver of the Chevy van, was unhurt.

Troopers said, there are no witnesses to confirm who had the right of way.

Anyone who might have witnessed this crash is asked to call Florida Highway Patrol at # 407-737-2213.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, FHP said.
