11 a.m. Darden Restaurants Corporate Headquarters Grand Opening

Mayor Dyer will officially open the new corporate headquarters for Darden Restaurants in Orlando at a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting. Darden is the world’s largest company-owned and operated restaurant company with approximately 180,000 employees and almost $6.7 billion in annual sales and through subsidiaries.
5:30 p.m Share-A-Meal with Ronald McDonald House Families

Mayor Buddy Dyer, along with youth from the City’s Parramore Kidz Zone program, will join fellow Orlando leaders to Share-A-Meal with families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Orlando located on the campus of the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children.

Mayor Dyer will attend the grand opening of the new Waldorf Astoria hotel in Orlando. This is the first Waldorf Astoria hotel to be built outside of New York City. The opening of this hotel keeps Orlando at the top of travel destinations worldwide and brings thousands of new employment opportunities to Central Florida.
