A woman who police say used an electric weapon to discipline young children, has been arrested.
Letina Smith, 41, of Kissimmee was taken into custody on Friday, charged with three counts of child abuse.
Smith, a caregiver, is believed to have used an electric weapon to punish children ages 7 – 9 years old. The children described the weapon Smith uses as being pink and rectangle with two points through which electricity flows. The children also said she would touch them with the weapon when they misbehave.
Smith admitted to investigators that she does have an electric weapon and will activate it, holding it close to the children, but never touching them.
Smith was arrested and charged with three counts of child abuse. She was transported to the Osceola County Jail and is being held on a $3,000 bond.
