It’s On: Six compete for Orange County Commissioner District 6

Well, unless you have been living under a rock in West Orlando, then by now you may have heard a little buzz about the 2014 open County Commissioner District 6 seat currently held by County Commissioner Tiffany Moore-Russell.

If you haven’t heard about this race, then rest assured as we move forward closer to the primary election on August 26, 2014 you will be bombarded in the mail, in person, at your door and at your church!

The majority of the six candidates competing are by no means fundraising rookies! No, money alone is not enough to win a race but it certainly pays for church fans, t-shirts, mailers and staff!

The candidates are as follows; Homer L. Hartage (Former District 6 Commissioner), Joshua Paladino (Community Activist), Victoria Siplin (Senator Gary Siplin’s wife), Derrick Wallace (Construct Two business owner), Roberta Walton (Top aide to current District 6 County Commissioner Tiffany Moore-Russell) and Virginia Whittington (Metroplan Orlando Executive)

As of November 30, 2013 there has been a combined total of over $215,000 raised among the candidates, which is a massive amount considering what is traditional raised for the District 6 seat, especially considering there are still 8 months left before the election.

Stay connected, as I break down the financial numbers, the nitty-gritty, the nasty and the necessary!
