A major donor of Gov. Rick Scott’s “Let’s Get to Work” committee has laid off close to 500 workers, the Miami Herald reports.
Bill Edwards, a Treasure Island businessman, who donated $500,000 to Scott’s campaign in March earlier this year, summarily laid of 476 employees from a mortgage business on Monday.

Wow…business as usual here in Florida. Rick promises 1.7 million jobs over 7 years. So far we have 300000 low paying service jobs that do not pay a living wage. Now Rick is going to spend 100 million to get reelected. I just hope he does not turn spiteful later next year when all that money makes no difference in the polls. Slash and burn Rick…hey you voted for him…I did not.
