The decomposing body found in a wooded area off Boggy Creek Road last Friday night, is that of Javier Enrique Rodriguez Garcia, Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives believe.
Garcia, 21, of Harbor Town Drive in Kissimmee, went missing on July 25, after he was last seen by his roommate and an acquaintance around 1:00 a.m. He was reported missing by his family on July 27, deputies say.
Family member told investigators Javier was distraught over the recent death of his grandfather and when he left his residence on July 25, it was reported that he had been drinking and taking drugs.
A caretaker of property in the area of 2080 Boggy Creek Road in Kissimmee alerted deputies on August 16, there was an odor coming from the wooded area and he had discovered a partially decomposed body.
Evidence found at the scene suggests that the body is that of Javier, although detectives are working with the Medical Examiner’s Officer to make a positive determination. Deputies say, the cause of death has not been determined at this time.
