A former teacher accused of killing her husband lashed out at WFTV reporter Kathi Belich in court Thursday. Delores Laster is accused of a murder that happened more than 20 years ago and, during that time, she continued working as a teacher in Orange County.
It was a question about her children that caused her to lash out at Kathi Belich. Belich asked the long-time Dillard Street Elementary School teacher about the allegation that she made her two young children help move their father’s bloody body after she shot him in order to cover up her crime.
“Mrs. Laster, how could you involve your children in something like that?” Belich asked.
“You know what?” asked Laster.
“How could you involve your children? Please don’t do that, Please don’t do that,” Belich said when Laster grabbed her microphone.
“It’s not true? Your children are lying about you then? Your children are lying about you?” asked Belich.
More than 20 years later, 61-year-old Delores Laster still insists she didn’t do it, but her son painfully admitted to investigators how he still wonders whether his father Clarence would be alive today if he had called for help.
