Early Tuesday morning, a 77-year old man was shot in his home on 6th Street in Taft, Orange County.
Orange County deputies responded to a call around 6.23 am, today from relatives of the victim who arrived at his residence and realized it had been broken into. The man had at least one gun shot wound.
Upon arrival deputies found the victim to be conscious and alert. He was able to tell them that he was shot after he encountered two black males some time between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM who apparently broke into
the residence.
The victim was transported to ORMC and his condition is unknown at this time.
Orange County deputies responded to the scene and are continuing with their investigation.
