Holiday travel is forecast to increase by 3.2 percent at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) this year, as against 2008, say Orlando Airport officials.
During the 16-day holiday travel season, MCO is expecting, based upon early bookings and airline information, to surpass national estimates with nearly 45 thousand additional passengers this year over last, bringing the total number of travelers through MCO to 1.4 million during the holiday season.
2009 Christmas / New Year’s Statistics:
* Orlando International expects a 3.2 percent increase in travelers.
* The holiday travel period is 16 days long: Saturday December 19th – Sunday, January 3rd 2010.
* 1,452,704 total travelers are expected to move through Orlando International. That represents a net increase of 44,992 passengers compared to 2008.
