Orlando Police have arrested four suspects in connection with operating an unlicensed telemarketing business on north Magnolia Avenue and more arrests are underway.
Eric Isaksen, 35, of Orlando; Kurt Neyworth, 33; Catherine M. Keller, 35, of Clermont; and Andrew Nance, 29, of Orlando, were arrested on Thursday after police executed a search warrant at 319 north Magnolia Avenue.
Police said that the business fraudulently scammed victims of money and profits amounting to over $130,000 a week. Thousands of people across the country and as far away as Canada have been scammed. Detectives said the persons running the business purported to be brokers, soliciting people in the sale of time share condos. Victims would pay upfront and never receive service, police said.
Since the investigation began at the end of December 2010, police have seized over $60,000 from a bank account, $1,700 in cash, 4 vehicles and over 200 computers and miscellaneous electronics.
Twenty-seven people have been detained, with four arrested today.
Isaksen, Neyworth*, Keller and Nance have been charged with several crimes, including soliciting and purchasing without a license, employing unlicensed sales people and telephone/communications solicitation without a license.
Police said that the complaint came in from a Crimeline tip and more arrests are pending, as the investigation continues.
