22-Year-Old Driver Killed in Early Morning Crash

Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on Monday morning on US 441, in Orange County, which left a 22-year-old Kissimmee man dead.

FHP said, Reynold David, 22, was traveling northbound on US 441, approaching Wetherbee Road, aournd 12:20 a.m.

A 2012 international truck, driven by Benjamin Matos Burgos, 45, of Baymon, Puerto Rico was traveling southbound nearing Wetherbee Road, in the inside left turn lane.

Burgos told troopers that he had a green turn arrow and initiated a U-turn from the inside left turn lane, then changed lanes to the outside left turn lane, across northbound US 441.

As David entered the intersection, the front of his 1997 Chevy collided with the right rear of the truck.

David was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

A passenger traveling with David, 23-year-old Jessica Marie Jeppesen, of Orlando, suffered serious injuries. She was taken to ORMC.

Burgos sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.

Trooper said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
