Who Cares? Dwight Howard LA Bound?

Dwight Howard

After a summer of trade talks to the Brooklyn Nets that fell through over and over it seems that Dwight Howard is willing to sign a long-term extension if traded to the Los Angeles Lakers via Jarrod Rudolph of RealGM. The three-way deal that is being talked about now would send Howard to Los Angeles, Andrew Bynum to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Anderson Varejao plus multiple draft picks to the Orlando Magic.

After Brooklyn traded for Joe Johnson it seemed unlikely that the Nets would add Howard and with two players being paid over $19 million (Johnson, Williams) they wouldn’t have the cap space to add the three time defensive player of the year during his free-agency at the end of the season.

Reports are that nothing is “imminent” but that this is a significant report in an ongoing saga with Howard.

With the addition of Steven Nash and Antawn Jamison to a Lakers roster that is hoping to keep Metta World Peace and Pau Gasol through the trade negotiations, a healthy Kobe Bryant and a Dwight Howard will most likely make the Lakers the favorites to win the 2012-2013 NBA Finals.

The Magic are looking to move forward and start a new, to do that they will obviously need to move Howard and clear cap space by adding Jason Richardson and or Hedu Turkaglu to any trades they will pull off. In addition the organization is looking to acquire multiple draft picks and a solid player in return.
