20-Time Felon Charged with Murder in Central Florida

For six months, detectives investigated a murder in Central Florida and ended up charging a 20-time convicted felon.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has linked a 20-time convicted felon to a fatal overdose in November.

On November 5, 2023, 27-year-old Querran Talley was found deceased in a mobile home park in Thonotosassa (corner of East Fowler Avenue and Walker Road). Upon searching the decedent, detectives located what appeared to be crack cocaine in his sock.

Using investigative means, detectives in HCSO’s Opioid Overdose Investigation Unit discovered 47-year-old Anthony Mansfield supplied the drugs leading to Talley’s overdose.

On November 16, 2023, detectives arrested Mansfield for:

  • Trafficking In Fentanyl (28 Grams or More)
  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Deliver
  • Delivery of a Controlled Substance
  • VOP Cocaine – Sale, Manufacturing, Delivering
  • VOP Cocaine – Possession

Mansfield has been in the Falkenburg Road Jail without bond while the death investigation continued.

On February 26th, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death of Talley to be caused by the combined effects of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and oxycodone.

On April 18th, the facts were presented to a grand jury and Mansfield’s charges have been updated to include Murder in the First Degree, Resulting from the Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

“For six months, our detectives have worked relentlessly to hold this man accountable for taking a life here in Hillsborough County,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will continue to fight against the proliferation of fentanyl in our community and hold those responsible for spreading this poison accountable.”
