Not having had her morning coffee yet, a Florida woman accidentally shot her friend at Starbucks while waiting in line Wednesday morning, causing commotion in the store.
Pamela Beck, who carried a handgun in her purse, dropped the bag on the floor and it “hit the ground hard,” St. Petersburg Police spokesman Mike Puetz told The Huffington Post. Â The fully loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun went off striking Amie Peterson, her friend, above the knee.
Beck told investigators that her father had given her the gun about a year ago, and she hadn’t intended to bring it out in public. “She had forgotten about it,” Puetz told the Huffington Post.
