Senator Dan Gelber (District 35) would make protecting consumers his number one priority, should he be elected the next Attorney General of the State of Florida. Gelber, in an exclusive interview with West Orlando News online recently said, the current Attorney General is not as focused as he ought to be on protecting the consumer.
“The Attorney General is your lawyer and he is the one making sure you are not being charged for something you shouldn’t be,” Gelber said. “He (the Attorney General) is the one making sure that police are organized in efforts to secure our neighborhoods. That is what an Attorney General does. So, the first thing I would do is re-establish that position, as the consumers’ lawyer”.
Gelber added that he would look at other areas that the Attorney General’s office had neglected and would “weigh-in” on specific issues like health care and public education matters.
