NFIB Launches Ads Against Medicaid Expansion

Warning about potential long-term costs to Florida, the National Federation of Independent Business on Tuesday launched an ad campaign opposing an expansion of Medicaid under the federal Affordable Care Act.

Bill Herrle, executive director of the small-business group in Florida, said the expansion would cost the state at least $3.5 billion over the next 10 years and said taxpayers should be suspicious about promises that Washington will pay most of the expansion costs.

NFIB, which has been a longtime opponent of the Affordable Care Act, will run the ads on television, radio and the Internet.
