The Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community, Inc. (P.E.C.), organizer and presenter of the annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities, has named Thomas S. Kornegay board president. In his new role, Kornegay will provide leadership in the areas of policymaking, fundraising and the development of corporate and governmental relationships.
Kornegay is chairman, founder and chief executive officer of TeKONTROL, Inc. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served for 24 years in a variety of engineering, logistics and maintenance management and staff positions.
Kornegay is active in a myriad of civic and community activities and has served in leadership positions in many of them, including the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce Executive Board; Black Business Investment Fund Board of Directors; Orange County Historical Society Board of Directors; COMPACT Board of Directors; Greater Orlando Small Business Chamber Executive Board; African American Chamber Board of Governors; Florida Chamber Board of Governors; Leadership Orlando Alumni Board of Directors, and Greater Orlando Leadership Foundation Board of Directors.
Kornegay immediately assumes the duties as board president.
