Circuit Judge Debra Nelson has set a date for the start of George Zimmerman’s murder trial – June 10.
Zimmerman is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teen.
Attorneys for Zimmerman and Martin will meet on Friday “to discuss discovery issues, subpoenas for Trayvon’s school records and motions by the news media to keep the fact of the case public,” according to news reports.
Meanwhile, Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie, faces one court of perjury. Prosecutors contend that she was less than truthful regarding her husband’s finances when she suggested the couple was broke, at his first bond hearing.
Prosecutors and Shellie Zimmerman’s attorney have agreed the next hearing in her case would be December 12, wdbo.com reported.
