Wrong Man Killed in Three-Way Dating Triangle

Stephen Thivierge, the 20-year-old man who was gunned down in the University Oaks Plaza parking lot on Orange County’s east side on Friday, was not the intended target, deputies say.

Deputies also say, another man who was shot and survived, but was with Thivierge at the time of the shooting, was the intended target.

The unnamed man told investigators he was targeted by a Hispanic male he knew only as “June” and his brother. He said he was made aware of this recently, after he began dating a woman named Desiree Lutman, also know as Desiree Mafeo. According to investigators, Desiree is also dating “June.”

The man also told investigators he believed he was targeted by “June” and his brother, because of his relationship with Desiree.

Desiree has not been incorporating with the investigation, so far, investigators say.

Anyone with informtion that my help identify “June” and his brother is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit or Crimeline at # 1-800-423-TIPS.
