A woman was hit and killed while walking along the Florida Turnpike early Monday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The accident happened near mile marker 254 just before 3:00 a.m.

29-year-old Bridget Lee Green, of Leesburg, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Medical Examiner, troopers said.

Green was hit by a semi-truck that was traveling onto the entrance ramp from State Road 441, southbound to the Florida Turnpike.

For an unknown reason, Green was walking in the southbound lanes on the Florida Turnpike, dressed in all black, when she was hit.
